saltash.net’s Year 7 Girls’ Football team were awarded during assembly last week, following their fantastic victory in the East Cornwall U12 league and the team’s success at the Caradon youth games tournament.
The league was played at Callington over the course of four January evenings, and saltash.net emerged victorious from each fixture, scoring over 20 goals and keeping four clean sheets. This was followed by the team’s success at the Caradon youth games tournament in March.
After presenting the girls with their individual medals and certificates, teacher of PE and Team Coach Mrs Gue said: “These girls have been super this year, turning up to training regularly and in large numbers. A record number of girls have been involved and have represented the school amazingly well. I am super proud of them all and very grateful for their efforts.”
