We had an amazing trip out to the science, technology, engineering and maths showcase at Plymouth University, which gave our students an insight into these key areas.
They started the day with an opportunity to go around lots of different stalls and activities all linked to one of the STEM areas, they put lab coats on and got really involved with different activities including using Segway’s and extracting DNA from a banana. All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the different opportunities available and gave everything a go, our day finished with hearing from one of the University professors as to where a science and technology degree can take students in the future, which was both thought provoking and aspirational.
As always our students were impeccably behaved, engaged and represented our school amazingly well, it was brilliant to take so many of our students who are in the University passport scheme as a reward for their efforts.
