Dear Parents/Carers,

The Government has now updated the list of those people considered to be Key Workers to be many of those working in:

  • Health and social care
  • Education and childcare
  • Key public services
  • Local and national government
  • Food and other necessary goods
  • Public safety and national security
  • Transport
  • Utilities, communication and financial services

For full details please see their ‘Guidance for schools, colleges and local authorities on maintaining educational provision.’ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision

In their guidance for schools today, they have clearly stated that if it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be. This means that, in line with NSPCC advice, other than in truly exceptional circumstances, we will not be able to accommodate the children of key workers if that child is a teenager (over 12).The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear: if children can safely stay at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

If this updated guidance now means you feel that your child should come to school during the period of closure, then please complete the attached form: https://forms.gle/SzrYMXuP4CNZi38z7.

If you have any queries, please contact my PA, Mrs Angela Bee: abee@saltashcloud.net

With best wishes,

Kate Littledyke
