Employers, apprenticeship schemes and universities really value the DofE Awards.
- This is because they help to teach you:
- self-reliance
- teamwork
- leadership
- planning
- problem solving
What does the Award Entail?
- Three months of each of these sections:
- Volunteering
- Skill
- Physical
- Then a further 3 months of just one of them (so you will do two of them for 3 months and one of them for 6 months)
- An expedition or hike and camp for 2 days and 1 night.
What does the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Saltash Community School look like and how do I get started?
- Take a letter home and speak to your parents. The cost is £50 to register and to pay towards the upkeep and replacement of the kit we use.
- Return the letter and consent form to Mr Feldwick in PE and wait for the payment to open up on Parent Pay.
- Start to think about what you would like to do for each of the three sections.
There will be DofE club meetings every other Friday.
