Dear Parent/Carer

Year 7 TEAM Week Monday 18th-Friday 22nd July

I am writing to provide you with more information about our TEAM week, which we are really excited to be able to offer as we know how much students have missed curriculum enhancement. The Curriculum will be collapsed, and all students will follow the same programme, giving them the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom and to further develop our school TEAM values.

Students will line up and register as normal on each day and all activities will run within school hours meaning normal transport arrangements. When students are in school, they will be able to access the canteen as normal, when on trips they will need to bring a packed lunch, packed lunches will be provided for FSM students. Students will need to ensure they are prepared for all eventualities by bringing a waterproof jacket and sun block as well as plenty to drink. Students should not bring valuables; school cannot be responsible for these. I have included the outline for the week below:

 MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFriday
Activities-All in school hours.   Students line up and register as normal.   We will be using Tamar Coaches.      Tenacity Science field trip-Learning about our local environment by visiting Dartmoor.   Students to wear suitable clothes for walking.Aspiration Day of creativity led by our Art & Design Technology Departments developing printing skills.   Uniform to be worn.        Motivation Camel Creek Trip.   Students will have the opportunity to explore a local adventure park, in preparation for the task that they will be doing the next day.   Students to wear suitable clothes.      Empathy Being an entrepreneur.   Based on their day trip to Camel Creek -students work in small groups in their Tutor Groups designing a local theme park – presentation to tutors.   Uniform to be worn.    TEAM Subject day-led by our History, Performing Arts and PE Departments.   Students having the opportunity to develop their skills in these subjects outside of their lessons.   PE clothes and trainers to be worn.

We will write to you nearer the time with more specific details and arrangements. In the meantime, should you have any further questions please email myself at egue@saltashcloud.net or head of year afeldwick@saltashcloud.net. We have tried to keep the costs of activities and trips to a minimum and have subsidised these, however we are requesting a £25 voluntary contribution, this will be on ParentPay.  If we do not receive enough contributions, the external trips might not be able to run but we really hope that this will not be the case.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support.

Kind Regards

Mrs Emma Gue

TEAM week co-ordinator
